Two energy-saving building contests find winners

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has recently held an award ceremony for two contests: "2012 Energy Management in Industry and Buildings" and "2012 Energy-efficiency buildings".

In 2012, these contests drew the participation of nearly 100 enterprises in industry and buildings sector across the country. As many as 605 typical energy-saving solutions were implemented, helping to save 8,298 TOE per year worth nearly VND186 billion and the elimination of Carbon dioxide dropped by 21,848 tonnes per year.
2012 was the third year of the contest on "Energy Management in Industry and Buildings" with an aim to use the energy efficiently and sustainably. There were 32 units applying for the contest who were involved in two awarding systems: Efficient Energy Management and Creative Energy Management. First prize winner for Efficient Industrial Energy Management went to Panasonic Vietnam Co. Ltd; first prize winner for Creative Industrial Energy Management belonged to Asia-Pacific Brewery Co. Ltd. The Hanoi Deaha Business Center and Hai Phong Big C Hypermarket International Trading and Service Joint Stock Company won first prizes in Efficient Building Energy Management and Creative Building Energy Management respectively.
Last year also marked the sixth time that the "Energy-efficiency buildings" contest was held, attracting the participation of 35 buildings in several forms: renovated buildings, new and available buildings, tropical and office buildings. The prizes honored 19 buildings which performed successfully as Green-Clean-Beautiful buildings: unique design, close to nature, environmentally- friendly and energy efficient.
The first prize winner for renovated buildings belonged to Moevenpick Saigon Hotel while first prize winner for new and available buildings went to Nikko Saigon Hotel. Ho Tram Beach Resort and Spa won first prize in tropical buildings and the Green Power Tower won first prize in office buildings./.
