Colusa-Miliket Foodstuffs Joint Stock Company has become the first business in Ho Chi Minh City to get a certificate for meeting ISO 50001 standards in energy management.
The Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Centre (ECC-HCMC) granted the certificate to the company on April 9.
According to ECC-HCMC General Director Huynh Kim Tuoc, saving energy is considered the primary answer to reducing energy costs while ensuring the quality of products, thus targeting the efficient use of energy consuming equipment and protecting the environment.
Colusa-Miliket received the ISO 50001 as it was able to save 76.259 kWh and 338 tonnes of coal in 2012 thanks to executing a number of solutions to improve efficiency, he said.
At the granting ceremony, the ECC-HCMC also signed an agreement to provide consultations on the establishment of an energy management system in five businesses, including Vinh Hue Company, Huu Nghi Garment Company, Phu Huu Grinding Station, and Dong Quang Textile Company.-VNA
