A solar-powered car race will take place at the HCMC high-tech industrial zone from September to November by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, HCMC Television and HCMC Energy Conservation Centre (ECC-HCMC).

The competition, for individuals and organisations with a penchant for designing solar-powered cars and are living and working in Vietnam, aims to raise concerns of the community in applying solar energy as well as create a helpful playground to arouse the passion of applying solar energy.
Participants will compete in qualifying rounds for the final round. Each solar car will have to run a close-circuit lap of 2 km with certain obstacles for a period of 20 minutes.
The competition can now open for entries at ECC-HCMC until the end of September.
